James Bond DB5 (10262) - Body Panels Going On

After a prolonged wait, our missing pieces finally arrived on Friday. Naturally, we got down to work over the weekend, putting in some of the interior (driver's seat and steering column) as well as some of the body work.

The rear quarter panels and doors all went on, as well as some of the detailing on the back end of the car.

You can see the chromed detailing on the rear bumper as well as the rear lights. The chromed pieces wrap around each side of the vehicle as well.

Both doors swing wide open easily. There is a little bit of a catch when trying to close the doors. I think this is in part to ensure that the doors don't open too easily (don't want them just swinging open on their own) and partly due to the thickness of the door. To achieve a perfectly smooth closing motion would have required the spacing between the door frame and the B-pillar to be eye-catchingly large.

There is a hidden compartment located in the driver's side door. The secret panel flips down to reveal a secret phone - it's red so it must be really important!
